All About Cats and Dogs
|
Introduction
The person has tamed a cat much later than a dog. The cat is one of
the most common rets.
The cat becomes attached to the house, rather than to the person, and
returns affection.
At various times the cats were approached in different ways. In ancient
Egypt it was a sacred animal.
For a murder of a cat, a person was given the death penalty. This had
mostly to do with the fact that a cat helped get rid of house rodents.
|
| And in days of the Middle Ages in some West-European countries
the cat was considered a devil's servant. Owners of black cats were
accused of communications with evil spirits.
Sometimes a person becomes closer to the cat than to other people. There
was a case when a woman left her entire will to her cat, which was over
100 million pounds of sterling.

In popularity the cat advances a dog, which is especially
in the cities. At this time the total of all the house pets in the
world is over 600 million. Any apartment where a cat resideds becomes cosier.
The cat, like any house animal, demands care, attention, time and the
responsibility.
However the pleasure which it gives to a person compensates for
all the complexities connected with its maintenance.
|
| In Basel (Switzerland) Elizabeth Muller has created an original, unique
museum of cats. For many years she collected everything related to these
amazing animals.
In the museum you can see sets of figures of cats made of a marble,
metal, glass, porcelain, along with their paintings.
One of the halls is allocated to wild ancestors of the cat, and the
most valuable exhibit is the mummy of an animal, which age surpasses
5 thousand years. The museum building is surrounded by the sculptures
of the cats.
By appearance the cat resembles it's ancestors. There are only some
changes in the structure of the ear, more expressed camber of the temporal
bones, truncated muzzle and in color.
